Electric Currents
January 16, 2010My brother, father and I did some experiments today. Our wii was not working and then we wanted to see weather there was any electricity coming from the power cable. Since we couldn’t pull the cable out at the time we decided to use a machine called a volt meter. This machine shows you how much electricity is flowing through an object. We used a battery to give some power to the metal conductors that we used. We go some pots and pans from the kitchen, aluminum foil and some forks and knives. These are very good conductors and we also found out that the metal rod we had was not a conductor on the outside because of the paint. Another thing we found out is that gum wrappers have a metal side and a non metal side that makes it one side conductor, one side insulator. Isn’t that cool? Then when we got the wii cable out, my father and I saw that there was no power and that we needed a replacement cable for it. It was cool to see that my father, brother, and I figured out what was wrong with out wii together. My father said that we are all electrical engineers. I hope that you will do some experiments like this too. Science Rules.
